Tilapia

My family really enjoys tacos. We make it an experience by letting the kids make up their own taco. And each one has their own way to make “The Best Taco.” Everyone gets excited when I tell them we’re having baked tilapia fish tacos for dinner.

The base of a great taco is some flavorful meat. With only 5 ingredients, Cumin and Chili Crusted Baked Tilapia Fish Tacos comes together quickly. It’s a great meal for busy nights. The tilapia is drizzled with olive oil and and coated with a mixture of ground cumin, chili powder and salt. Let the fish bake while you make and gather your other taco toppings.

The Cumin and Chili Crusted Tilapia comes out flaky and delicious. So much flavor packed in one bite. Our favorite taco toppings are Pico de Gallo, Refried Black Beans, Lime and Cilantro Coleslaw, shredded cheese and sour cream.

Building Your Fish Taco (or Taco Salad)

My husband and I like to go low carb. So if you want to cut the carbs and make this Keto, add some more lettuce and make a tasty Fish Taco Salad. Additionally if you really want to add some fat use 5% fat plain greek yogurt instead of sour cream. Finally, you don’t want to use canned refried beans with extra sugar when you can make this simple tasty Refried Black Bean Recipe. But remember, you should add the beans sparingly if you’re eating Keto.

My girls had fun showing off their taco creations.  Aren’t they cute? They really wanted to help mom make pictures. And, yes, the youngest does have breaded fish in her taco, but look at all the other good stuff.  Sometimes, you have to pick your battles, right?
