Crispy Baked Chicken Drumette Recipe made two ways, tangy lemon pepper and savory garlic parmesan. These drumettes make a fun appetizer or satisfying meal.
Chicken wings are a family favorite, passed on from my husband, to me and on to the kids. They make a great appetizer, and we love them for meals too. We all love going to a great wing restaurant. We’ll order a variety of flavors to share and make a meal out of chicken wings and vegetables. I like making chicken wings at home too. This recipe is for chicken drumettes, which is the meatier part of the wing that attaches to the body. Of course, this recipe will taste great on any combination of wing sections.
To get the chicken drumettes crispy in the oven, the trick is to use baking powder. It helps to dry out the skin, so it can get really crispy. To re-create the fun restaurant experience, make more than one flavor. It this case, we’re making lemon pepper drumettes and garlic parmesan. Both great sauces pack a lot of flavor, but not much heat. So, the whole family will enjoy them.
Flavor Packed Sauces
This chicken drumette recipe starts off with two really easy, flavor packed sauces. For the lemon pepper drumettes, combine lemon pepper seasoning in a bowl with melted butter, salt and baking powder. To make the garlic parmesan sauce, mix together melted butter, parmesan garlic seasoning, salt and baking powder. The parmesan garlic seasoning might also be called garlic bread seasoning. If you don’t have either, use garlic powder and grated parmesan instead.
Divide your chicken drumettes between two baking sheets. Use a pastry brush to thoroughly coat the wings with the sauces. A lot of the sauce will end up in the pan while baking, so the separate pans help make sure the flavors don’t mix.
Once the wings are sauced, arrange them skin side up on the baking pan. If the skin has shrunk, stretch it out over the drumette as best as you can. This way it’ll get extra crispy like deep fried wings. Bake the chicken drumettes at 375º for 50 minutes until the skin is golden and crispy and the juices are clear.
Serve the chicken drumettes with your favorite dipping sauce and vegetables. Perfect for an appetizer or a tasty meal. Enjoy!!
